Very rare and exceptional English flintlock pistol made by Thomas Probin, Birmingham, England, 1700-1725. A study was done in 2016 on this prolific gunsmith and only three pistols were found at the time, including this one. However, here we have got our hands on a fourth and last copy traced to date.

This item is considered a decorative and collectible historical weapon within the meaning of Canadian firearms law and does not require a firearm license for its possession and transportation.

This pistol is in exceptional condition. It was the subject of a light restoration project to maintain its full functionality by Mr. Bernard Riendeau, a craftsman specializing in the restoration of antique firearms, from Noyan (Quebec). A signed and dated report of what was done can be provided upon request.

This pistol is rare, very elegant and slender. It has graceful lines. The stock is made of good quality curly English walnut. This is a museum quality firearm and certainly a piece that would be at home in a quality collection.
